“Maison Christian Louboutin is pleased to welcome Jaden Smith as the first Men’s Creative Director,” said a joint-Instagram post by Louboutin and Smith on Wednesday.

At just 27 years old, Jaden Smith is stepping into a highly coveted role in fashion as the very first men’s creative director for the luxury brand. Christian Louboutin handpicked Smith himself and will continue to oversee his men’s division, while Smith takes on new creative direction projects. The fashion icon also said that Smith was the only candidate for the job.

“When I first met Jaden, I saw in him a natural fit for the Maison, his world is rich and multidimensional, his style and cultural sensibility are inspiring and his curiosity and openness are remarkable…He feels like the perfect addition to our creative team,” said the French designer via Instagram.

The young mogul, who is the son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, has previously worked in the entertainment industry as an actor and popular musician. In his new role as creative director, Smith will oversee the creation of four annual collections, “shaping a distinctive visual and emotional universe that extends beyond product design,” the post writes.

Smith does not plan on slowing down his momentum anytime soon. Just one day after announcing his new role at Louboutin, Smith’s new single Red Cloaks, featuring Rich the Kid, dropped on all streaming platforms on Thursday, September 18th. Both the album release and the Louboutin announcement have garnered major excitement across social media and a variety of industries.

Smith will take the lead on the creative side of Louboutin’s leather, shoes and accessories for the men’s department. His role will also focus on building campaigns, curating experiences, and planning events for Maison Christian Louboutin. Smith will be moving to Paris full-time to join the rest of the creative team.

He will reveal his debut collection of designs during Men’s Fall/Winter 2026 Paris Fashion Week in January.

“It isn’t just a title — it’s a creative home. Christian has given me a place to explore, to learn, and to create freely. His legacy is built on hard work and joy, and I want to carry that forward,” said Smith of his exciting new role.
