New stores at Lynnhaven Mall include trendy brands

Lynnhaven Mall has been adding tenants to attract shoppers in search of style and sweet treats.

Since July, the Virginia Beach mall has welcomed fashion retail tenants Dry Goods, Garage, FP Movement and luxury sneaker and streetwear store Amped. Canadian retailer Garage and Iowa-based Dry Goods sell casual clothing and accessories catering to tweens, teens and young women.

FP Movement, the sister store of Free People (in the same brand portfolio as Urban Outfitters), opened near the mall’s food court in November. Channing Edwards, FP Movement’s assistant visual manager, said it’s the first FP Movement in Virginia. She added that you will not find this clothing line in the Town Center Free People store.

“We’re the first store in Virginia to just carry FP Movement clothing. Some Free People stores carry some of the FP Movement line,” Edwards said. “It’s still Free People, but it’s a fun spin on athletic wear.”

The store sells layering pieces, casual outerwear, workout basics, sports bras, the brand’s popular quilted carryall bag and beauty wellness items. Edwards said the store had a great December with their hot shot crossover sets “selling like hotcakes.”

“Our athletic wear has a cool girl vibe, but it’s for all ages,” Edward said. “Our prices are more comfortable than Free People.”

Shoppers can also now find some new bling at Swarovski, which specializes in sparkling crystal creations and jewelry, and Kendra Scott, a popular fashion jewelry brand based in Austin, Texas.

Red Truck Candy Co., located next to Dillard’s, sells homemade fudge, truffles, specialty sodas and other sweet finds. Kelly’s Cajun Grill, known for its signature bourbon chicken, also opened recently, along with Miniso, a Chinese variety store popular with Gen Z that sells toys, gadgets and products for home, tech and beauty.

The mall’s newest store, Five Below, opened in February. Elizabeth Napolitano, a vice president of Divaris Real Estate and Five Below’s exclusive representative for Hampton Roads, said Lynnhaven Mall was a natural choice for the discount gift store popular with kids because of its strong co-tenancy and the diverse customers it attracts.

“The mix of national retailers and consistent foot traffic aligns perfectly with Five Below’s value-driven, trend-focused customer base,” Napolitano said. “It’s a strategic addition to both the mall and Five Below’s regional growth.”

Claudia Ilagon, global marketing manager for GGP, the company that owns and manages Lynnhaven Mall, said by email that other anticipated openings include Edgewood Outfitters in March and Miss A, Offline, and Rowan this summer.

Additionally, Adele Diamond will be expanding in late spring, and several new leases for stores are in negotiations. Ilagon said GGP continues to add and is in discussion with several new “first market” retailers to enhance the overall shopping experience at Lynnhaven.
